Common Concerns & FAQs

Q.Are public universities in Germany completely free?

Yes! State-funded public universities in Germany do not charge tuition fees for regular domestic or international students. You only pay a small semester contribution fee ranging from €150 to €400 to cover student union services and public transit passes.

Q.Can I apply for a Masters without IELTS?

Yes. If your undergraduate 4-year BSc degree was fully conducted in the English Medium, many public universities accept a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate from your university as proof of English proficiency instead of an IELTS score.

Q.Is knowing the German language mandatory before leaving Sri Lanka?

While many Masters programs are taught entirely in English, learning basic conversational German (A1/A2 level) is highly recommended for daily life, part-time jobs, and integrating into the local community. We provide full pathway guidance for your language preparation.
